Reference KM 6292

The name "De Ville" appeared on Omega dials as early as 1963, before the line became an autonomous collection in 1967: an elegant, urban alternative to the sportier Seamaster, without sacrificing their reliability.
This reference KM 6292, dated 1968, is listed by Omega itself in the archives of its US Collection. This model has the particularity of having a 14-carat gold-filled monocoque case. This means that the automatic movement it houses, calibre 563, is placed at the front of the case, which is closed by the dial, bezel and crystal.

Launched in 1948 to celebrate Omega's centenary, the Seamaster is one of the Swiss brand's most iconic collections. In its early days, it embodied the ultimate "dress-sport" watch: robust, waterproof, yet elegant enough to accompany its wearer in all circumstances. In 1957, it adopted the seahorse as its emblem: a symbol inspired by Venetian sculptures of Neptune, carved on either side of the gondolas in the City of Doges, and since then inextricably linked to the collection's marine identity.
