The Gruen Precision 770R chronograph dates from the 1970s. Gruen is an American watchmaker founded in 1894 in Ohio. From its earliest days, Gruen earned a reputation for the precision and reliability of its watches. In the early 20th century, it was considered one of the leading American watchmakers.
Unfortunately, it did not survive the quartz crisis and ceased operations in the late 1970s.
This model, which has become relatively rare, is powered by the Valjoux 7730 caliber, which traces its origins to the famous Venus 188 caliber (a brand acquired by Valjoux in 1966).
