Girard-Perregaux Mimo 1940s

MIMO is a sister brand of Girard-Perregaux, founded in 1918 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Otto Graef, who acquired GP in 1928 when the company was on the brink of collapse. The two brands coexisted for two decades, MIMO in Europe, GP in North America, before the third generation of Graef merged the two identities in favor of Girard-Perregaux in the 1950s. This watch from the 1940s is a direct witness to that era: understated, legible, with a black dial typical of the aesthetics of the time.
