In the early 1950s, Tudor established itself as a leading brand. In 1952, members of the British North Greenland Expedition : scientists, Royal Navy servicemen, and mechanics, all wore a Tudor Oyster Prince on their wrists, proving its robustness in extreme conditions. The 7808 reference follows the same philosophy: to offer the water resistance and reliability of the Oyster case at a more accessible price than Rolex, in a 34mm format suitable for elegant daily wear. Its automatic caliber 390 is the same movement that powered the 7900 series Submariners from 1954.
