Jaeger-LeCoultre E159 1940s
Did you miss it?
More vintage watches are waiting for you.
This late 1940s Jaeger-LeCoultre adopts the design codes of military-style watches: a steel case, a matte black dial with a grainy texture, and numerals inscribed on the dial.
It is powered by the famous manual-winding P478 caliber with center seconds.
Watch condition
The watch is entirely original, with the exception of the crystal, which has been replaced. The grainy-textured dial typical of the era has been restored. The numerals and hands have been relumed. The case is in good condition.

Where does the P478 caliber come from?
It belongs to the same family of calibers as the 488, which equipped the Mark XI, a Jaeger-LeCoultre military watch. It is a manual-winding movement that beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour. A chronometer version of the P478 later equipped the Geophysic in the late 1950s.
What does "relumed" mean?
Reluming involves reapplying luminescent material to the numerals and hands.
