This Omega Constellation C-Shape, with a design attributed to Gérald Genta, stands out for its gold linen dial, with a texture reminiscent of linen fabric. The two-tone black and gold applied indices and the date at 3 o'clock complete this dial, giving the piece a remarkable look.
The case is gold-plated, with a steel caseback, an Omega-signed crystal, and a signed crown. It houses the caliber 564, with automatic winding and quick-set date.

Watch Condition
The watch is entirely original. The linen dial has never been touched and is in very good condition. The entire watch is completely original. The Omega-signed crystal is original. The crown is signed Omega. The entire case is in good overall condition. The gold plating is well-preserved.

Who was Gérald Genta?

He was a watch designer, creator of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus. He is also credited with the C-shaped case of this Constellation.

Caliber 564: the essentials

It is an automatic, chronometer-certified caliber with 24 jewels, beating at 19,800 vibrations per hour. It is based on the caliber 561, to which it adds a quick-set date function: the date is advanced by successive pulls of the crown, without needing to wait for midnight.

Launched in 1952, the Omega Constellation immediately established itself as the first mass-produced chronometer-certified automatic watch. Its name is inspired by the eight stars engraved on the case back, symbolizing the eight chronometric awards won by Omega at the Kew-Teddington and Geneva observatories between 1933 and 1952. This medallion featuring the observatory crowned with stars quickly became one of the brand's most recognizable signatures.
