This 1950s Omega stands out for its dial with an irregular brown patina, which gives it a lot of character. The small seconds are at 6 o'clock.
The case is made of stainless steel, with an Omega-signed crown. Its 36 mm diameter, generous for the time, gives it a beautiful presence on the wrist. It houses the manual-winding caliber 266.

Watch condition
The watch is entirely original, with the exception of the crystal, which has been replaced. The dial has never been touched and has developed a brown patina with irregular spots. The crown is signed and the case is in good condition.

What is the caliber 266?

It is a manual-winding Omega movement from the 30mm caliber family, with small seconds, 17 jewels, and Incabloc shock protection. The successor to the 30T2, it was produced for over twenty years.

Why is a dial's patina different on every watch?

Over the decades, light, humidity, and air alter the color and surface of the dial, and these effects vary from one area to another. Each piece thus develops a patina that is unique to it.

How old is the 2791 reference?

From the 1950s. It is a manual-winding steel reference, powered by the caliber 266, which exists in several variants (2791-2, 2791-5, 2791-6…).

The detailed, high-resolution photos and videos allowed for a close look at every little detail. And anything not mentioned in the description or shown in the photos was easily clarified via chat. I bought an Omega watch with an incredible patina from Vintage Watch Spirit. The watches in their catalog are splendid. A promising family-run startup in vintage watchmaking.
