This Omega Suveran, intended for the Swedish market during the Second World War, stands out for its central seconds hand, whereas most Suveran models feature a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock.
Its black dial, well-preserved for its age, has a configuration typical of military watches. It houses the famous manual-winding caliber 30T2 SC.PC, renowned for its robustness and precision.

Watch condition
The watch is entirely original, with the exception of the crystal, which has been replaced. The dial of this Omega has never been touched. Some darker spots are visible, particularly in the lower part. The case is in satisfactory condition and shows numerous signs of wear consistent with its age.

Why is the Suveran linked to Sweden?

During the Second World War, neutral Sweden had Omega produce a watch sold domestically to help finance the country's economy. Its name, "Suveran," means "sovereign" in Swedish. These watches are currently uncommon on the market.

The 30T2 caliber, a legendary movement

The 30T2 is a legendary Omega movement, one of the most iconic for the brand and highly appreciated by collectors. It famously equipped the Omega W.W.W., supplied to the British Army in 1945 along with watches from eleven other manufacturers, a group nicknamed the "Dirty Dozen." This 30 mm diameter caliber appeared in the late 1930s and was produced until 1962. In the SC.PC version of this watch, "SC" stands for central seconds (seconde centrale) and "PC" for Incabloc shock protection (protection antichoc).

How do you identify a Suveran?

By its case back, which bears the name "SUVERAN" or the Swedish inscriptions "Antimagnetisk, Vattentät, Stötskyddad" (antimagnetic, waterproof, shockproof). Its steel case measures approximately 35 mm and has a screw-down back. The dials exist in several versions: military-style black, white with Roman numerals, or two-tone.
