This 1947 Longines features a two-tone, tropicalized, black bullseye dial with a uniform patina.
Its sei tacche case is recognizable by its six-notch screw-down caseback. It is powered by the manual-winding Longines 27M caliber.

Watch condition
The watch is entirely original, with the exception of the crystal, which has been replaced. The dial has never been touched and has developed a beautiful patina over time. The case is in good condition for its age.

How can you recognize a bullseye dial?

By its target-like design: a central disc surrounded by an outer ring in a contrasting color.

What does "tropical" mean for a dial?

This term refers to a dial whose original color has evolved into brown hues over time, particularly due to exposure to light.

Sei tacche: what does this term refer to?

"Sei tacche" means "six notches" in Italian. Italian collectors gave this nickname, long after they were manufactured, to Longines watches from the 1930s-1940s whose screw-down casebacks open via six notches. Three-notch models are called "tre tacche."

Longines in a nutshell

Founded in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz, Longines is a Swiss manufacture that notably produced chronographs and supplied watches to several armies.
