This early 1960s Omega is appealing for its cream dial and applied indices. A few small dots on the lower half of the dial give it character. The steel case is equipped with an Omega-signed crown. Inside beats the calibre 600, a manual-winding mechanical movement.

Condition of the watch
The watch is entirely original, with the exception of the crystal, which has been replaced. The cream dial has never been touched and shows some marks, mainly in its lower part. The crown is signed. The case is in good overall condition.

What is the calibre 600?

The calibre 600 is the manual-winding version of the 550 family, an automatic calibre launched by Omega in 1958. It measures approximately 28 mm in diameter, has 17 jewels, and beats at 19,800 vibrations per hour.

It is the origin of a whole series of manual calibres: the 601, the 602 (chronometer-certified), as well as the 610, 611, and 613, which add a date.

Launched in 1948 to celebrate Omega's centenary, the Seamaster is one of the Swiss brand's most iconic collections. In its early days, it embodied the ultimate "dress-sport" watch: robust, waterproof, yet elegant enough to accompany its wearer in all circumstances. In 1957, it adopted the seahorse as its emblem: a symbol inspired by Venetian sculptures of Neptune, carved on either side of the gondolas in the City of Doges, and since then inextricably linked to the collection's marine identity.
