The patinated dial is in very good condition, featuring applied indices and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock. The movement is the manual-winding caliber 987A.
Watch condition
The watch is entirely original, with the exception of the crystal, which has been replaced. The dial has never been touched and is in very good condition. The case is in satisfactory condition for its age. Its gold plating shows some loss due to wear.

Learn more about Hamilton
Hamilton was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on the site of a factory taken over after the bankruptcy of the Keystone Standard Watch Company. The brand became known for its railroad pocket watches, marketed as the "Watch of Railroad Accuracy." Its American manufacturing ceased in 1969, with production shifting to Switzerland at the Büren factory.
What do we know about the 987A caliber?
The 987A is a 6/0 size Hamilton manual-winding caliber with 17 jewels and a small seconds display. It belongs to the 987 family, introduced in the late 1920s.
What is a 10K gold-filled case?
Gold-filled is a base metal case covered with a layer of gold bonded through lamination. The 10K designation indicates the purity of the gold in this layer, which is 10 karats. This layer is thicker than standard plating, but it can wear down in places over time.
