This 1958 Omega Seamaster 2937-4 features a gilt dial with applied gilt hour markers that catch the light and give it real elegance on the wrist.
It is powered by the hand-wound Omega calibre 267, the same movement found in the sought-after Ranchero.

Condition of the watch
The watch is entirely original, except for the crystal, which has been replaced. The dial has never been touched and is in good overall condition, with a few discreet age-related marks. The crown is signed. The case is in good overall condition.

Where does the calibre 267 come from?

The 267 descends from the 30 mm calibre launched by Omega in 1939. In 1940, a 30 mm regulated by Alfred Jaccard took first place in the Kew-Teddington chronometry trials, followed by the Geneva Observatory in 1945. Produced in many versions, this movement remained in production until 1963, with around three million units made.

What are the specifications of the calibre 267?

Introduced in 1956, the 267 is a hand-wound movement with 17 jewels and small seconds. It beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz).

Is this Seamaster a “Seachero”?

No. The 2937 is a genuine Seamaster with its own case, not a Ranchero fitted with a Seamaster dial by Omega. It does, however, share the calibre 267 with the Ranchero and the Seachero, produced in the same period.

How does reference 2937 differ from the 2938?

Both references are contemporary, but the 2937 uses the small-seconds calibre 267, while the 2938 is fitted with the calibre 284, its centre-seconds equivalent from the same generation. The 2937 can be recognised by its water-resistant snap-on caseback. Water resistance is no longer guaranteed.

The detailed, high-resolution photos and videos made it possible to see every little detail up close. And anything not mentioned in the description or shown in the photos was easily clarified via chat. I bought an Omega watch with an incredible patina from Vintage Watch Spirit. The watches in their catalog are splendid. A promising family-run start-up in vintage watchmaking.
I won't hesitate to go back to them.
